Do you look at other people’s carts?

January 17th, 2012 at 04:36 am

I went shopping yesterday, to get something’s for DF-M my elderly neighbour, so had I have get a few grocery and pet food for myself too! So this shop is what I nicknamed a cat shopping (More cat food than human food.)

It’s funny how you get into habits when buying things, anyone cart snooping into my cart / trolley. Do you do it? Would wonder what I ate at all.

There was between us
12 cans of cat food
2 packets of dry cat food
40 rolls of toilet paper
750g of white grapes
5 packets of satay Asian noodles
2 litres of skim milk
5 bags of Rustic Bread rolls
1/2 stick of celery
4 knobs of Australian garlic
6 packets of pasta
2 pack of Christmas cards @50c
2 packets Christmas jelly candy @50c
Local paper

I would love to see someone try to make a meal out of that lot.

Between us we spent over $70

Today is a no spending day

    Guilty.

And if/when I see a guy with frozen and instant everything, I assume he is either single (divorced/widowed) or his wife is out of town. ;-)

I've thought that before- what people would think when I have coupons for shaving cream, medicines, and seasonings.

too funny! I've tried to tag which shoppers are paying cash and which will use CC by what they put on the conveyer to the till as I wait in the next line over.

In American groceries we are all herded counterclockwise past produce and bakery, do those who drive on the left get herded through the store clockwise?

Just yesterday I was grocery shopping. The lady in front of me had a heaping buggy of processed and convience foods. I was thinking to myself that is going to be one high dollar grocery bill. I believe her bill was $357.00!!! I wonder how long that will last her family?

But then again, I get strange looks because I usually get three gallons of milk at a time...

I usually look at what the person in front of me in line puts up on the conveyer belt and what the person behind me puts up. There is a lot of convenience foods and ready made foods from the deli going out, whereas almost all of my stuff is fresh fruit and veg, cheese, milk, fish, chicken, and sometimes beef. I get comments all the time about the freshness of my food, but I try not to make comments about their 50 boxes of frozen dinners. If I have a bunch of coupons for toiletries, I will always warn the person that gets behind me in line of that fact.
