Dry Cleaning

January 12th, 2008 at 08:04 am

One of my friends had me drop off some dry cleaning during the week, so this morning I went to pick it up. It was very large lace quilt that was expensive to buy. It cost $30.00 to have it dry cleaned. I hand wash things like this and I do have the line space to dry it too! I don’t remember the last time I had anything dry cleaned.

I had to use my car to pick it up.

I am fortunate, I know someone who works for a dry cleaner. I get most of my stuff done for free!

Even this person says that most clothes, please note the word MOST this doesn't mean ALL, that say dry clean only can easily be washed. (and not necessairly by hand either)

It generally isn't the cleaning that causes a/the problem . . . it is the drying.

As an owner of dry cleaning plants I agree with some of what you say about things stating "dry clean only" but in reality could be hand washed. This is true to a certain degree, then again there are some things that say "machine wash" but doesnt come out right unless dry cleaned. Then if you really wanna be confused, I've seen garments that say "Do not wash, "Do not dry clean" Thats what dry cleaners are for, they can inform you on what to do with your clothes even if you dont leave it to be cleaned with them
