Full Freezer again!

August 2nd, 2010 at 09:09 am

Both my fridge and freezers are full as my friend as cleaned her freezer out and we went shopping today and she bought me a cooked chicken and 2 T-bone steaks as well buying her self the same. I got 4 x 1kg each bags of frozen fresh broad beans & large bag another kind frozen fresh bean. I did give two kilos away of broad beans and re-bag the balance into 200g portions which will give you about 3 servings when cooked. I found an interesting recipe that I liked for them. I will post the recipe later.

I had one of the T-bone steak for dinner tonight now I can’t let go to waste can I! I had fresh mushrooms in butter, grilled onions slices, cabbage, an egg to go with it along fruit salad & ice cream.

I need to think about my meals for next few days as I will eating out twice in the coming days. Its EKKA time here again I did post about it a few year’s back now in August 2006.

We have been stocking up on berries (so cheap now that summer is here!) and freezing them... but the problem this leads to is that our freezer is far too small! Still, we would like to have some insurance that we can enjoy them this winter for a tasty and healthy dessert option. Maybe we need a separate freezer?

Sounds very satisfying. (I'll have to go look up EKKA--don't know what it is.)

Oh hey, I just read about EKKA from your 2006 blog. Sounds so much like our "state fairs", except maybe the industrial/merchandise displays sound better at EKKA than at my state fair. And can I presume that being in winter, your EKKA has not so much emphasis on agricultural products? Our state fair is also this month.

Joan I'm taking my camera so will put up some photos from EKKA, yes it's like a state fair as we are in the sub-tropics here it would like a summer fair in some parts of America.

Tampa Florida is about closes to our climate. We don't get Snow but westerly winds this time of year and there are here now.
